Well, well you’re right Shang! Nobody wants to be blind for his or her whole life. Just imagine if you can’t see just because you can’t quit SMOKING! “Blindness” is said to be the newer effect of cigarette smoking. With that, start QUITTING now!
The effects of smoking will vary from person to person and depend on such things as number of cigarettes per day; the age of the person began smoking, and the number of years of smoking. But major effects are the following:
- The mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure, straining your heart and blood vessels.
- Tobacco smoke also contributes to a number of cancers.
- This can cause heart attacks and stroke. It slows your blood flow, cutting off oxygen to your feet and hands. Some smokers end up having their limbs
- amputated.
- Carbon monoxide robs your muscles, brain and body tissue of oxygen, making your whole body and especially your heart work harder. Over time, your airways swell up and let less air into your lungs.
- Smokers have an increased risk of developing:
1. respiratory infections such as pneumonia and chronic bronchitis;
2. emphysema (a progressive and potentially fatal lung disease);
3. heart attack and coronary disease;
4. cancer of the lung, throat, mouth, bladder, kidney, pancreas, cervix, stomach;
5. stomach ulcers; and
6. peripheral vascular disease due to decreased blood flow to the legs.
So, QUIT NOW! This is your challenge. Once you quit, then you will gain benefits. Benefit of believing yourself and once you’ve quit, you will know you can succeed at controlling your life. Another thing also is when you give up smoking; it’s like getting a pay rise as much as 8,000 Php a year if you smoke 20 cigarettes a day. (i.e. if price of each cigarette is only 1.00 Php)
Here’s the "BUT", HOW to start Quitting? Any, tips?
How about you shang?
